Hi there! I saw your post on the supplies swap list, and would be interested in purchasing a DVD from you. Could I see a preview?
Please contact me with further details. Thanks!!

Hi Lauren! I was doing a search and found your web site. I am contacting you on my daughter’s behalf. She just moved to Hopkinsville, KY with her husband, he is stationed at Ft. Campbell. This is her first child and she is very young – 19. She had an awesome female OB in CA and is now under TriCare & was referred to the only OB group in her town & to Jenny Stuart Hospital. She had her first visit with a dr. today and he told her he was going to induce her labor, give her an epidural, etc etc. She was shocked! She was also by herself at this appt. Her husband was on duty. She felt very intimidated by this dr and he made her feel that if she didn’t choose to do chidlbirth this way, she was stupid! Having done a water birth and a home birth myself, after having a horrific hopsital experience my first time around, I am very concerned for her and what she is going to go thru in KY! Having come from CA where you have a lot of choice in how you birth, she is very upset. Do you travel to Hopkinsville?? What choices are there for her? I am so stressed about this, esp being 2000 mi away!

Hi Cynthia! I am excited for you all! I have to say that if a first visit with an OB is bad that it might need to be the last visit with that OB. Fortunately for us as patients we are also consumers and if we don’t like the OB we can keep shopping! I would suggest her searching for other options, she might find someone that clicks better for her. Also… What about army midwives? Are there any there?
I would strongly, strongly suggest a doula. It will definitely improve her and her husbands birth experience. I am not sure of any doulas there but doulamatch.com might give some options for her!
Tell her to check out my favorite book: Ina May’s guide to childbirth. It’s very uplifting!

Best of luck to you all… I hope this helps some!
