Alright everyone... I guess since it is the 4th I'll close the contest and announce the winner that gets the free samples of baby food distributed by SproutBaby.com. Since Cameron followed the instructions of commenting directly on a product that she saw on Sproutbaby.com, she gets a multi-pack of baby foods!
Thanks to all of you that have enjoyed this blog and checked out the website Sproutbaby.com.
Cameron, email me your mailing address to lauren@birthisfun.com!

I'd obviously love to try the foods, but I liked the bottles & the Sprout club! You'd get 60, 90 or 120 packets of the food each month & you'd get a better price & free shipping! That seems pretty great if I liked the product.

I was very surprised to realize, when my daughter was 10 months old, that I had never bought a single jar of baby food. I did buy some of the dry whole grain baby cereals. But she quickly went on to mashed, milled, or modified versions of whatever the rest of the family was eating, and lots of fruit, she loves fruit and rice... Packaged baby food is pretty convenient, but I think it's largely over-rated as a necessity, especially when delaying solids 'till the baby shows desire and interest for them.

With Fiona, I have to give her things she can pick up herself. But she did try Sprout and she seemed to like it. I like the idea of making my own food, but it was always tricker for me... because I didn't want to make food with butter and spices and I'd forget half way through making dinner. I like prepared foods that are good and responsible, which is what we always sought out. We tried Sweet baby carrots with apples and mango and it is delicious. E had to try it too!

Hey Lauren, do you ever make baby food? I made baby food for both of my kids and it was SO cheap and easy. I did buy some Earth's Best here and there for when we were not at home (our Publix sells them buy 1 get 1 free all the time). Just wondering since there is not doubt about what goes in it! LOL! I've never seen Sprout before, but good to know.....

I made about 70% of Molly's baby food, and always kept a few jars of food handy for when we were going to be out. I love the idea of a recyclable container that's easier to carry around in a diaper bag. And brown rice pudding with peaches sounds so healthful and yummy. Would definitely try it out with another little one if and when it comes to ShopRite :o)
