What a great post, Laren!

I was so lucky to have one of the books by Dr. Sears and be able to read what he had to say about attachment parenting right around the time my daughter was born. I began my journey as a mother with a new and fresh perspective choosing attachment parenting as my parenting style, which is not always a commonplace here in the US and especially not in Belarus where I was born and raised. It's such a blessing to be aware of attachment parenting early on as a parent!

Another great resource that I found is a book by Alfie Kohn called "Unconditional Parenting: Moving from Rewards and Punishments to Love and Reason". It is very eye-opening, to say the least! They have a copy of it in one of Lexington libraries (Beaumont Branch, I believe). I have a DVD with a talk by Alfie Kohn, based on this book, and you are welcome to borrow it any time!
